Have you ever been in the state where you just arrived home and it’s late at night or you’re in a rush to prepare a meal for the family or a friend that is visiting? Garlic noodles is a quick dish that you can make in under 30 minutes.
Making a good meal requires a lot of effort, if you want to a reap great result. Garlic noodle is a very easy dish while still giving you a great flavour at meal time. There is just nothing like sauteed garlic soy sauce, fresh herbs, spices and noodles.
Is there any substitute for soy sauce?
For those who have allergy to soy products, in place you can use a soy free miso paste with some water or coconut amino which have an umami flavor like soy sauce. Those are my two options to substitute soy sauce with. I would prefer the miso though more.
What could I add to Garlic Noodles?
You can add any fresh garnishes of your choice, such as a lime, lemon, some sesame seeds or some fresh herbs to enhance your dish at meal time. You can also add snow peas, bell pepper, and some frozen corn or tofu! Adding some stir-fried bok choy or some steam broccoli or some roasted cauliflower will make it even better. Trust me, it’s fantastic. Learn to make best roasted cauliflower. We made it so many times before.

Garlic Noodles Recipe

Garlic Noodles
Equipment
- 1 large pot
- 1 Wok
- 1 colander
- 1 Wooden or silicone spatula
- 1 Chopping board
- 1 kitchen knife
Ingredients
- 8 cups water
- 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/2 bulb of onion
- 2 tbsp finely chopped ginger
- 2 tbsp chopped green onion
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp chilly flakes
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- 1/2 a veggie cube
Instructions
- In the meantime, peel 3 garlic cloves and a onion bulb. Then, using a knife, carefully chop up your garlic cloves as well as 1/2 of an onion bulb. Finely chop 2 tbsp of ginger and 2 tbsp of chopped green onion. Then place them into a medium-size bowl one after another.
- Once your water is boiling, open a package of noodle of your choice and place it into the pot with the water. Depending on the thickness of your noodle of choice, it will take slower or faster to cook. With the remaining noodles, snap them in half and place them in the pot with the rest of the noodle.
- In a medium bowl, combine 1 tsp of sea salt, 1 tsp of chilly flakes with 2 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tbsp of tamarind paste, and 1/2 of a vegan veggie cube. Using a whisk, give it a good mix until you dissolve the tamarind paste and veggie cube.
- In a large pan, pot, or wok sauté your garlic, and ginger for a minute, then add in your onion and green onion. Next, add in your sauce and let it simmer for a minute.
- After your noodles finish boiling, turn off your stove. Using a strainer, drain the noodle from the pot. Rinse it with cool water to remove extra starchiness.
- Add in the noodles with the sauté seasonings in the wok, pot, or large pan. Then mix it using a spatula or by shaking the wok.
- Serve it out on dishes and enjoy!
